Not only is this the largest collection EVER devoted to the classic country sounds of the '50s and '60s, but this set devotes two of its ten CDs to rarely-anthologized, hard-to-find hits from such artists as Warner Mack ( The Bridge Washed Out ), Johnny Wright ( Hello Vietnam ), Ernest Ashworth ( Talk Back Trembling Lips ) and Bill Phillips ( Put It Off until Tomorrow )! Plus, you'll find gems like Loretta Lynn's first hit, I'm a Honky Tonk Girl , recorded for the tiny Zero label, and Elvis' very first hit, That's All Right , recorded for Sun in 1954. Not to mention other signature songs like Hey Good Lookin' Hank Williams; Walk On By Leroy Van Dyke; There Goes My Everything Jack Greene; Dang Me Roger Miller; There Stands the Glass Webb Pierce; White Lightning George Jones; Still Bill Anderson; Singing the Blues Marty Robbins; Crazy Arms Ray Price; The Battle of New Orleans Johnny Horton; The Three Bells Browns; I'm Moving On Hank Snow; Four Walls Jim Reeves; I've Got a Tiger by the Tail Buck Owens; This Ole House Stuart Hamblen; Last Date Floyd Cramer; Folsom Prison Blues Johnny Cash; Detroit City Bobby Bare; Saginaw, Michigan Lefty Frizzell; Don't Touch Me Jeannie Seely; The Wild Side of Life Hank Thompson; Young Love Sonny James; Hello Walls Faron Young; Galveston Glen Campbell; Girl on the Billboard Del Reeves; My Baby's Gone Louvin Brothers; I Dreamed of a Hillbilly Heaven Tex Ritter; Old Rivers Walter Brennan, and more.

The thirty-five CDs that make up the present boxed set are designed to acquaint listeners with one of the most important pianists of the 20th century or, if they are already familiar with his work, to allow them to rediscover it anew. Wilhelm Kempff (1895-1991) was the final representative of the great tradition of German pianists that also included Artur Schnabel (1882-1951) and Wilhelm Backhaus (1884-1969). Of the three, Kempff had by far the longest career - he gave his last public concert in 1982.
